Château Henri Bonnaud is located in Le Tholonet village, 6km South-East from Aix-en-Provence. It is also there that we can find most of the plots of land classified in AOC Palette. Chateau Henri Bonnaud vineyard is spread out over 14 hectares of the appellation which counts only a total of 46. The AOC Palette is one of the most confidential of France and produces beautiful wines with great ageing ability. The estate is located in a natural amphitheater made of chalky gravel soils and protected from the strong winds by surrounding hills as well as the Sainte-Victoire mountain, famous for inpiring Paul Cézanne. This unique configuration give the wines strenght, opulence as well as an excellent capacity to age.
Nowadays, it is Stéphane Spitzglous, wine enthusiast and self-taught winemaker, who manages the estate. Stéphane works in compliance with the environment and uses neither artificial fertilizers nor weed killers. In 2010, in a big step forward, he converts the production of the estate to organic farming and remains to this day the only one who has done so in AOC Palette.
