The Hauller family started working in the Alsatian wine industry since the 18th century. At first they manufactured barrels, dedicated to the coopering of wooden casks, and then progressively started to tending the vines and making wine. Over the last hundred years the skills, precision and knowledge of 5 generations of Master-Coopers have forged the passion for Fine Wines that motivates the younger generations of the family. Nowadays it is Ludovic Hauller (photo), the 6th generation of winemakers, who runs the estate. Located 40km south of Strasbourg in Dambach-la-ville and its surroundings, the vineyard has a terroir of granite and twin micas soils, which allows water to filter out while retaining the heat, providing one of the finest Frankstein Grand Cru.
