Situated in Minamiboso, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, RYO'S FARM is the biggest passion fruit farm of the region with nearly 15 acres of land producing 1,5-ton worth of fruits every year.
The manager, Hiroki Ryo, founded his farm in 2013 after 3 years spent in the WWOOFing community of Minamiboso, studying and experiencing firsthand the difficult profession of fruit farmer.
Originally destined to have a salary-man type career in the marketing industry, he quickly realized that he was in need of a different lifestyle: that of growing and providing quality products to the world.
Mr Ryo has since focused on his "passion-fruit", as he likes to put it, and sell delicious, chemical-free passion fruits and "Lilikoi" passion butter marmalade to high end selected shops and in various producer markets like in Yokohama.
At apéro. we had the chance to meet Mr Ryo and start using his excellent Lilikoi butter in our cuisine. Derived from its Hawaiian counter-part, Mr Ryo's Lilikoi butter has an unmatched creaminess to it as well as a unique texture and flavors thanks to, notably, the presence of soft-crisp passion fruits' seeds in the mix. Simply delicious!!
We are also selling Lilikoi Butter at the very special price of 1200 JPY (tax incl.) at apéro so feel free to ask us more about this incredible product :D
