Always a wine lover, Marc Delienne started slowly but surely to work with now fellow winemakers and friends of Côtes-du-Rhône to quench his thirst for good wines and learn winemaking technics for the last 10 years. In 2015 he realizes his dream, buys and renovates a vineyard in Fleurie and produces his first vintage the very same year. Involved in environment protecion, Marc started right away the convertion of the vineyard toward organic farming and should get the precious certification by 2019. Aged between 40 and 80 years old the vines are all located near the village of Fleurie on sandy clay-limestone soils and producing very elegant Beaujolais. Marc Delienne likes his wines to be as close as possible to the terroir and natural aromas of Gamay. Thus his cellar, even though is filled with giant foudres, the barrels are old and well-used – no new oak here – because he wants to produce a traditional beaujolais where the fruit of the gamay grape is the most important element. As for the winemaking part, Marc has chosen to use, on top of delicate slow extractions and gentle pressing technics, as little SO2 and other artificial products as possible. The result is stunning: his wine are very smooth, with incredible red fruits bouquet and silky tannins. A newcomer in Beaujolais that has clearly chosen quality as his motto!
